Memory problems

Many people are concerned about their memory. It is important to understand the nature of memory to recognise what is part of normal ageing and what requires medical attention.

Memory lapses can be frustrating but they are not the same as dementia. As we age, physiological changes in the brain might slow down our recall or impact on our brain’s efficiency in processing memories.

Often, we recall the elusive memory later and that might indicate that we simply need allow more time and freedom from distraction to remember.
